The disability vote includes people living with a disability, family members and friends, advocates, educators, professionals, providers, bureaucrats, and supporters. The disability community has a major stake in the outcome of this election. Issues important to people with disabilities must be part of the platform for any candidate running for public office, be it a City Council position or for Mayor.
The disability service providers, leaders, retailers, and groups of San Antonio are invited to join in a collective conversation around The Disability Vote in San Antonio. On Monday, February 22nd at 6PM, we will virtually gather as partners for the disability vote to look at the issues facing those living with a disability in San Antonio; build a framework around addressing some of those concerns with the City Council and Mayoral candidates who will appear on the May 2021 election ballot; and determine how best to collectively disseminate information and actively engage those we serve.
disABILITYsa is calling on the Disability Sector's organizations, groups, businesses, and advocacy leaders to move forward collectively with 3 objectives:

disABILITYsa is calling on the Disability Sector's organizations, groups, businesses, and advocacy leaders to move forward collectively with 3 objectives:
- Draft questions for City Council & Mayoral candidates to address issues focused on the disability vote and develop a strategy for distribution, response collection, and public dissemination of the information.
- Commit to get people registered to vote.
- Work to remove barriers and create more equitable access to the election process.

This effort is initiated in collaboration and with the support of REV UP Texas and Larry Johnson.
