DisabilitySTRONG is a multifaceted information, education, and community campaign to open conversations about questions and barriers around vaccinations and provide information and resources on health safety, benefits, and access for the disability community.
disABILITYsa invites healthcare professionals to join us in breaking down the barriers that may inhibit individuals living with various disabilities from seeking healthcare services from local providers. Through our DisabilitySTRONG Provider Workshop, participants can increase their knowledge on how to easily make a healthcare environment more disability-friendly.
One in every seven people in San Antonio lives with a disability. This disABILITYsa Disability-friendly Provider Workshop will take Pharmacists, Physicians, and Clinicians through a 3.5-hour meaningful learning experience outlining the types of disabilities and associated access issues, participating in problem-finding exercises, exploring the clinical perspective, and an overview of various strategies, tools, and resources for creating more disability-friendly environments.

This training is available at no cost to participating pharmacies and clinics thanks to funding from Texas A&M Health, Texas Department of State Health Services Immunization Unit, Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities, St. Luke's Lutheran Healthcare Ministries and the Baptist Health Foundation of San Antonio.
- Earn 3.5 General CEU's or 3.0 CNE/CMEs for completing the workshop and follow-up exercises.
- Following the completion of the workshop you will be entered into a drawing to receive a disability friendly starter kit (valued at $325) including resources, communication boards, a social story, and an optional Virtual Remote ASL Interpreting Services set-up with 30 minutes of services ($190 value).
