- STEAR is the State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry. The STEAR program is a free registry that provides local emergency planners and emergency responders with additional information on the needs in their community. Texas communities use the registry information in different ways. Registering yourself in the STEAR registry DOES NOT guarantee that you will receive a specific service during an emergency. Available services will vary by community. You may register by phone by dialing 2-1-1, or (877) 541-7905 or by completing the online form at https://tdem.texas.gov/stear/ . Attached is brochure about the program.
- AHAS (Accessible Hazard Alert System) is also known as Accessible AlertSA. Accessible AlertSA is a partnership between DeafLInk and the City of San Antonio, Office of Emergency Management. This system provides accessible alert messages to registered residents who are Deaf, Blind, Hard of Hearing, or Deaf / Blind before, during, and after an emergency or disaster in the City of San Antonio. Subscribers will be able to receive an accessible alert message in American Sign Language (ASL) and English voice and text and is compatible with wireless Braille readers. You may register for this alert by completing an online form at http://sat.ahasalerts.com/Register.aspx
