TIPS ON PAINTING PURSES
From one artist to another...
Regular craft acrylic paint should work, in thin layers- thick paint will need to be thinned out (water should work)! I use “leather” paints, but that’s because I’m usually painting Louis Vuitton’s. I’m not sure the difference from a leather paints and normal acrylic paint, but the leather can be costly and I’m not sure necessary- I’ve mixed them without any issues.
I recommend a white base under painted area, allow it to dry, then add colors.
I don’t cover the purse 100% with paint, and don’t overwork the paint.
To seal the paint I use a thin layer of satin or flat polyacrylic (not oil based) sealer over the painted area.
