Introduction to Challenging Behaviors and Functions of Behavior & Functional Behavior Assessment

This course will provide an overview on challenging behaviors, and teach participants about functions of challenging behaviors. It will also discuss the use of functional behavior assessment as the first step in developing effective interventions to decrease challenging behavior.

Antecedent and Consequence Interventions & Developing Behavior Intervention Plans
(Prerequisite: Functional Behavior Assessment)

This course will teach participants about antecedent and consequence-based intervention to reduce challenging behavior. It will combine the information learned in Introduction to Challenging Behaviors and Function of Behavior and Functional Behavior Assessment to teach participants to develop effective behavior intervention plans that decrease challenging behavior.

WHAT IS THE TRY IT BEFORE YOU BUY IT: This is a FREE informational and educational day targeting the special needs population. Kinetic Kids participants, health care professionals, as well as children, families, and friends in the community will have the opportunity to view and try out a variety of medical equipment and/or learn about services & resources available to the special needs population. Local and national vendors and manufacturers of medical equipment, orthotics, and toys will participate and display their products. Community resources that provide services to the pediatric special needs population will be present as well.
